The most beautiful stroll has to be an evening promenade along the Zattere quay. Begin at the Zattere vaporetto stop, where several cafés have delightful terraces overlooking the Giudecca Canal

It's the perfect place for an early evening Venetian aperitif.

Walk towards the Bacino di San Marco, passing the extravagant rococo façade of the Gesuati church and admiring Palladio’s famed Church of Il Redentore on the island of Giudecca.

As the sun is setting, you arrive at the end of the Zattere, the Punta della Dogana, for the ultimate Venetian panorama: the palaces of the Grand Canal, Piazza San Marco and the Palazzo Ducale, and the tall spire of San Giorgio Maggiore church.

The Giudecca Canal is less than a 150 ft away and it is for me the most spectacular canal in Venice because it us about 1/2 mile wide and is a true shipping canal.
Of course there are the small picturesque canals all around, but for light and air,the Giudecca Canal cannot be beat!!
Plus the Giudecca Canal is lined with a wide and gracious walkway that widens to quite a commercial walking boulevard about 600 ft 

A little Calle provides access to the apartment.

One of the few supermarkets in Venice(tiny but very helpful) is within walking distance as well as many restaurants, gelateria shops, and cafes.
